The Department of Development is charged with unlocking the grace of giving for alumni, parents, and friends to advance the sacred mission of Notre Dame. The Stewardship & Donor Relations team within Development partners closely with fundraisers to steward and cultivate donors to increase philanthropy. Stewardship at Notre Dame consists of programmatic acknowledgments, annual reporting, impact communications and appropriate public and private recognition. It also includes strategic and personalized stewardship efforts for those donors who have demonstrated the highest giving levels and capacity.
The  Assistant Director for Data  is responsible for the data management of the annual endowment and expendable reporting and project and data management of the student thank-you note processes. This individual is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the student thank you note platform currently implemented through Qualtrics. A champion of efficiencies, this individual pushes for best practices, automation, and streamlining for process improvements, working collaboratively with both internal colleagues and partners across the University. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Manage and execute the data needs for the University’s endowment and expendable funds reporting process, working closely with internal colleagues and campus-wide partners in the creation and dissemination of personalized reports
    • Utilize the Advance database, along with Excel, Business Objects, Google and InDesign, to create a variety of audits and reports for the Stewardship & Donor Relations team
    • Project manage and collaborate to design and execute the University’s annual student thank you note process. Utilizing Qualtrics and InDesign, this work involves designing several individual Qualtrics platforms, aggregating the collected content, and collaborating with team members to disseminate the resulting thank-you notes from thousands of student financial aid beneficiaries.
    • Serve as the primary stewardship liaison to the Development Information Technology & Services team
    • Work closely with the stewardship partner for the Office of Financial Aid, assisting with data prep for a variety of initiatives throughout the year. These include scholarship data requests, data audits, and programs such as “Where Are They Now” and first awardee outreaches.
    • Assist the Director for University Stewardship Initiatives while partnering with the Provost Office around acknowledgments, reporting, communications, recognition, stewardship events, and personalized stewardship for top donors.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree and 2-4 years related experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines; excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to interact with diverse constituencies in appropriate, positive ways and to handle sensitive/confidential information properly
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and willingness to be a strategic partner
  • Proficiency in multiple softwares (including script writing), as follows: Strong skills in Excel & Google Sheets, including knowledge of functions, macros, & visual basic / app scripts / java script. Strong skills in Business Objects writing. Proficiency with Qualtrics and InDesign. Understanding or willingness to learn about various academic areas
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn about gift management, the Notre Dame endowment, and basic financial principles of endowed funds
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Alignment with mission and values of the University

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Experience with Advance and InDesign
  • Knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), or the willingness to obtain this training
  • Project Management Certificate, Yellow or Green Belt training helpful, though not required. Other helpful software knowledge would include Illustrator, Acrobat, and Tableau, though not required.
